REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!!! Infant Mental Health? Who? Me?!: Relationship-based Strategies for Infant-Family Practitioners across Service Settings. Jacqui Van Horn, MPH, IMH-E® (IV) will be sharing her expertise in May 2012, across the State of Idaho!!
Jacqui has over 30 years of experience working with and learning from diverse families and family, infant, toddler practitioners in a variety of settings. She has a Bachelor of Education degree in Early Childhood Special Education as well as a Master of Public Health degree, with an emphasis in Maternal and Child Health. In 2007 Jacqui was endorsed as an Infant Mental Health Mentor. She has worked as a home visitor in both rural and urban areas with families of young children. Jacqui has also provided classroom-based services for infants and toddlers as well as specialized consultation for infant and toddler group caregivers. She currently provides Developmental Instruction to families with infants/toddlers with or at-risk for developmental delays through New Mexico’s IDEA, Part C Program. Additionally, Jacqui coordinates the New Mexico Association for Infant Mental Health Endorsement for Culturally Sensitive, Relationship-focused Practice Promoting Infant Mental Health®.
Jacqui draws upon her experience as a direct service provider, a program administrator and supervisor of home visiting, early intervention, and family support to provide practical training that practitioners can immediately apply to their work with families. She has worked for the past 15 years providing training and consultation nationally and internationally (AZ, CA, NJ, NM, WI, Honduras, Portugal, Kenya, Uganda and Zanzibar, Tanzania). Special areas of interest include supporting the integration of infant mental health principles and practices into a broad range of service settings, developing truly effective community-based systems of care for all families with young children, and working with culturally diverse families and practitioners to support optimal health and developmental outcomes.

Idaho Association for Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health (also known as AimEarlyIdaho) The Idaho Association for Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization founded in 2009.

The purposes of AimEarlyIdaho are to:
• Provide support to infants, young children, and their families to develop positive relationships (infant and early childhood mental health);
• Promote parent and professional development through education and research related to infant and early childhood mental health;
• Facilitate networking, cooperation, and collaboration among those concerned with the optimal development and relationships of children birth through five years of age;
• Promote scientifically-based programs of care, intervention, and prevention of mental impairment in infancy and early childhood; and
• Support local and state policies that promote family and infant and early childhood mental health.
